Newman
Newman
(played by Wayne Knight) is a neighbor of Kramer and Jerry, employed by
the United States Postal Service. He is a friend of Kramer's and an
arch nemesis of Jerry. It is never revealed why Newman and Jerry are so
hostile towards one another, and the pair often greet each other with
the famous "Hello, Jerry" and "Hello, Newman" greetings. Newman
attempts to get Jerry in trouble for mail fraud, and is seen enjoying
the group's punishment in the trial in the series finale. Newman often
schemes alongside Kramer, the most famous coming when the pair attempt
to bring bottles to Michigan for the ten cent refund.
